According to Andhra Pradesh Reorganization (Amendment) Act, 2014,
around 211 villages of mandals like Chintoor, Vara Ramachandra Puram,
Burgampadu, Kunavaram, Bhadrachalam, Kukunoor and Velairpadu mandals
were eventually transferred to Andhra Pradesh.
Now
the KCR government is trying to gain back five to six villages that
were allotted to Andhra Pradesh. Recently, he seems to have brought up
this matter with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and according to KCR, Babu had
responded positively.
No the big question is
why is TRS so particular of getting the villages back. There is no clue
as to why just 5-6 villages have become key for Telangana CM KCR. As
per law and constitution, these villages have become part and parcel of
Andhra Pradesh.
Many feel that KCR’s wishes
should not be entertained just at its face value. Some in AP feel that
if the people here want to still identify themselves as Telanganites,
they should then plan to relocate to Telangana. But KCR is very positive
of assurance from Naidu!
