At Thoothukudi district a bike rally was organized on Monday by the police to give awareness to the public about their voting rights to cast their valuable vote in the elections. The rally was flagged off by Ashish Goyal, the observer of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).

Thoothukudi district Collector and District Election Officer M. Ravikumar and the Superintendent of Police Ashwin M. Kotnis were all present when the observer of SVEEP has flagged off the voter awareness campaign.

The rally has urged the electors to cast their votes without any fear as tight security will be strengthened at the polling stations. The placards were carried by the policemen with the messages that have asked the voters to exercise their democratic right of voting without fail.

The rally has passed through areas like Millerpuram, Anna Nagar, Tooveypuram Market, Dhamodharan Nagar, George Road, District Sports Stadium and Beach Road and has ended up at Thalamuthunagar. Sources have told that nearly 150 police personnel have participated in the rally.
