In order to make it easy as far as traffic is concerned at 15 crucial junctions in Hyderabad, the traffic department has currently decided to ban the motorists from taking right turns in some important areas in the city. Because of this rule the motorists have to travel a little longer before taking a U turn.


The additional Commissioner of traffic Jitender has stated that they are implementing this new plan only at those junctions where traffic movement will ease and also helps the motorists. They are also considering some few criteria such as road width, infrastructure, density of vehicular movement and pedestrian crossing.


Jitender has also told that the new rule is already in existence in Banjara Hills, Mettuguda, Tarnaka and KCP guest house. Every police station were instructed to carry out the feasibility study and currently the traffic cops are coordinating with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials to make sure that the “no right turn” is implemented at the junctions.


Jitender has also added that this new rule will definitely facilitate the halt free travel for the motorists at the 15 city junctions. Presently the officials are making plans not to allow the motorists coming from Banjara Hills towards Road No: 1 from taking a right turn near GVK.
