It is never easy to gauge what exactly is being planned by the
mastermind of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He takes
surprise decisions which not only shocks the Opposition, but even his
own party leaders. Here is one more which is surprising all now.
There
are some rumours that KCR is contemplating for mid-term elections to
the State Assembly in the year 2017. This is likely to happen once the
process of delimitation of existing Assembly constituencies is completed
by Centre by late 2016. There is a reason behind this.
If
this process is indeed over, then the total number of Assembly seats in
the Telangana Assembly will increase from 119 to 153. KCR’s entire
focus is anyway towards weakening the Opposition parties before any
anti-establishment atmosphere arises in the State.
He
has already dealt a death blow to the Telugu Desam Party by luring a
dozen MLAs. KCR has now focused his attention on weakening Congress
party and today Chittem Ram Mohan Reddy of Makthal joined TRS. More are
expected to follow suit! This is going to be an interesting situation.
