The Telugu Desam Party’s annual conclave this time is most likely
to happen in Rayalaseema and this was reportedly discussed in the
cabinet meeting that was chaired by CM Chandrababu Naidu. It is one of
the most prestigious events for the party which shows the yellow
brigade's might.
Every year, it was Gandipet
near Hyderabad that used to host Mahanadu but for now sources say it may
not happen in Telangana and will happen in Andhra Pradesh. Some of the
senior TDP leaders say even their new base Vijayawada is being
considered as an option.
But sources say that
CM Chandrababu is of the opinion that Mahanadu in Rayalaseema will be a
hint of the party’s strength and it will also rejuvenate the cadre
present there. This comes at a time when TDP is working hard to decimate
YSR Congress in its strong hold of Rayalaseema, Tirupati,
Kurnool and Anantapur are being examined for possible venues.
Ministers
are hoping that Tirupati should be ideal for arrangements to get easy
and faster. However a final decision may be taken after the party’s
politbureau meeting. Many feel that this is TDP’s way of applying some
ointment as people from the region are furious over all focus being
directed towards Krishna and Guntur districts.
