On Friday April 22nd, to facilitate a hassle free Hanuman Jayanti procession and celebrations the city police have streamlined traffic movement in several routes in the city. The Hyderabad city police has deployed as many as 5,000 personnel for the procession which will embark at 10.30 am from Sri Ram Mandir at Gowliguda Kaman and would converge at Old Bowenpally Hanuman temple.


Nearly 260 CCTV cameras have been installed to check any untoward incidents in the procession route covering a stretch of 14 km and personnel from Rapid Action Force, Telangana Special Police, and Armed Reserve battalions have also been deployed.


A senior police official has stated that they have already started anti-sabotage checks and dog squads and bomb disposal squads have been checking the procession route every day and the police officials have held meetings with the organizers of the procession and has drafted 100 volunteers to help them out in leading the procession.


The Hyderabad police commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy has said that they have also taken additional measures by imposing traffic restrictions and diversions in various parts of the city in view of Hanuman Jayanti celebrations and strict orders have been given directing bars and liquor shops to be closed and playing of DJ sound system is also prohibited.
