The Government is completely unsatisfied with Liquor baron Vijay Mallya's reply towards the notice and Government has now cancelled his passport amid indications that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will move for his extradition if he is not deported by the UK in the next few days.

Vikas Swarup who is in Ministry of external affairs spokesperson said, "Having considered the reply furnished by Vijay Mallya to the show cause notice, facts got by Enforcement Directorate and non-bailable warrant under the PMLA Act, 2002, issued by special judge, Mumbai, the MEA has revoked the passport of Vijay Mallya."

Enforcement Directorate also has moved foreign ministry to secure Mallya's deportation. Enforcement Directorate also has issued a red corner notice against Vijay Mallya and this move will now completely paralyze his movement and will also clear the way for the enforcement agency to seek his extradition.

Another High Level Government functionary from UK said, "He is an Indian citizen and the complaint against him is by an Indian entity for a crime which happened here. All these make his case a fit one for extradition."
