It is known news that recently Telangana BJP’s President, Kishan
Reddy who has now become its outgoing chief has again termed the
alliance with TDP (TS) as the major reason for the party’s poor show
during the last elections in Telangana. This doesn't come as a surprise
to many.
Kishan reportedly lamented that even
though he had informed the party’s central command not to have the
alliance the high command took the alliance decision against the opinion
expressed by the state unit. But there is also another version to the
whole situation.
Kishan Reddy said that NDA government merging seven Mandals of Khammam into
AP for the Polavaram Project also affected the BJP Telangana unit badly
after the election. However it is an open secret that Kishan Reddy’s
attitude costed the party more than alliance or something.
He
never tried to work whole heartedly with TDP in the elections and
naturally the alliance turned counter productive. In 2009 elections, BJP
just won two MLA seats and in 2014 it won 5 seats. Kishan Reddy is
accused of speaking as if BJP won 50 seats in 2009 but it got reduced to
5 in 2014!
