Nearly 130 private hospitals empanelled with the Telangana Aarogyasri Health Care Trust (TAHCT) have decided to stop Aarogyasri services as well as the cashless Employee Health Scheme (EHS) for government employees from May 2nd as they are fed up with the state government's constant dilly-dallying over payment of long-pending dues worth Rs 260 to Rs 300 crores.

Dr T Narasinga Reddy the chairman of Aarogyasri sub-committee in Telangana Private Hospitals & Nursing Homes' Association (THANA) have stated that they have made endless representations to the state government to clear dues worth more than Rs 260 crores for 87,000 surgical procedures performed by the 130-odd private Aarogyasri hospitals, but every time they were given false assurances.

By the time even the dozen-odd Telangana Super specialty Private Hospitals Association (TESHA), which has top corporate hospitals in the city as members, has decided to discontinue taking in Aarogyasri patients from May 2nd.

Karam Ravinder Reddy the state president of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers' Association have told that a majority of the private hospitals empanelled with TACHT provides them cashless facility, but now they may have to shell out money for treatment and the employees will be forced to take the long route to claim the cost of treatment via reimbursement.
