The Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambi Durai has urged the Election Commission to repeal the mass transfers of official in Tamil Nadu on the basis of the complaints made by the Congress and the DMK. He has also told the media persons that the commission had transferred nine District Collectors as well as a number of senior officers of the police top brass on the basis of the complaints made by the Congress and the DMK.


Thambi Durai further added that the model code of conduct was in force for the past two months, the entire administrative machinery was under the control of the commission and the charges of the government misusing the administration were made with mal intent.


Mr. Thambi Durai has said that the Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha is confident of winning all the 234 seats and repeats a victory that she had won in the Lok Sabha elections. He exuded the confidence of the AIADMK winning all the seven seats, including Thiruvananthapuram Central, where the party has fielded candidate.


He has also told that the party was consolidating its position in Kerala and improves on the local government election results and Mr. Thambi Durai has also said that the Election Commission had agreed to look into the memorandum submitted by the AIADMK.
