The Telangana government has declared on Monday that the Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) will be held on May 15 and the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) on May 22. The Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has said that students who have applied for EAMCET can download hall tickets from May 12 onwards.

The Deputy CM has told that the engineering exam is scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm while the agriculture and the medical exam will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, adding, the EAMCET results would be declared on May 27. For engineering stream a total of 1,44,501 students applied, while for the agriculture and medical stream 1,01,987 students have applied.

The EAMCET exam was supposed to take place on May 2, but was postponed after a scuffle between private colleges and the state government. The managements were protesting against the state government's decision to conduct vigilance inspection for quality check in the colleges and refused to conduct any exams in their premises until the issue was resolved.

The chief minister was determined to go ahead with vigilance raids and he has even postponed the EAMCET to accommodate the candidates in government schools and colleges. In order to have smooth functioning of academic year without any disruption due to the postponement, the government has announced that counseling will be held in June.
