The Malaysia’s Minister for International Trade and Industry Mustapa Mohamed on Wednesday has met Telangana's Minister for Information Technology, Industries and Commerce K.T. Rama Rao and discussed the possibilities of cooperation in various sectors in the state.


The Telangana has sought cooperation from Malaysia in setting up industrial parks in the state. The state has also evinced interest in working with Malaysia in education, innovation, food processing and services sectors and a high level Malaysian delegation which accompanied the minister also exchanged views on various issues.


KTR has said that with 8% of the Malaysian population consisting people of Indian origin, synergy was possible with Malaysia and he has explained about the new industrial policy and the incentives were provided by the government for setting up industries in the state.


Telangana was described as the most preferred destination for investment, KTR has said the state has set aside 2.5 Lakhs acres of land for setting up new industrial units and he has also said the visiting delegations that Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Novartis have set up their campuses in Hyderabad. The Malaysian minister assured that his government would work closely with the Telangana government on T-Hub to create opportunities for young people.
