On Thursday the Collector Rajendra Ratnoo, who is the district election officer and election observers has inspected two counting centers as the Vellore district will have three counting centers. With polling for the Assembly elections scheduled for May 16, the counting of votes will be on May 19 and the officials have inspected the counting rooms, strong rooms where the Electronic Voting Machines will be kept and work to erect barricades.


The Election police observer Abdul Gani Mir, general observer Pradeep Kumar Aggarwal and Superintendent of Police, Vellore P. Pakalavan were present at the time of inspection. On Thursday at Thiruvannamalai the Collector Pooja Kulkarni has inspected the Assembly election counting centers.


She has inspected Thiruvannamalai Regulated Market premises located in Tindivanam Road where votes of Thiruvannamalai and Chengam constituencies are to be counted and Shanmuga Industries Government Higher Secondary School in Chengam Road where votes of Keel Pennathur and Kalasapakkam constituencies are to be counted.


The Votes of Cheyyar and Vandavasi constituencies are to be counted in Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyar and the votes of Polur and Arani constituencies are to be counted in Anna University College of Engineering located in Thatchur near Arani.
