Sonia Gandhi came to Chennai to address a crowd of around two lakhs of cheerful people. She started her speech with Sagothara, Sagotharikale (brothers and sisters) at Chennai's Island grounds yesterday. Both DMK and Congress cadre at the venue lacked the spirit of joy in faces.
Meanwhile EVKS Elangovan was in a rush to finish her speech and that never connected well with the audience. Sonia Gandhi also said that fishermen from Tamil Nadu were kidnapped by Srilankan navy and this speech also never gone well with the audience.
Also Sonia Gandhi failed to express her sorrow for the people of Chennai who suffered through deluge. But she said AIADMK never helped people during floods. She however spoke about water problems and farmer's suicides as per script written and she also spoke about similar problems in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Sonia also failed to address common issues of jallikattu, dams over Cauvery, presuming the DMK would take care of of them. She also never spoke anything about Srilankan Tamils. The crowd was about to cheer for Karunanidhi speech, but that was also disappointing.
