The Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and previous PM Manmohan Singh were arrested at the parliament street police station when they were in the rally titled as “Save Democracy” and they were later released.

Meanwhile the congress has made allegations that there has been a sustained effort by the BJP to destabilize the congress led governance in states which includes Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, where Arunachal Pradesh has seen a change in leadership and the latter hill has stated that is under president’s rule at the moment.

The two parties have also sparred in the current session of parliament over the Agustawestland issue.  During the protest march there was chaos outside the police station and hundreds of congress workers were outside the station where many congress leaders have courted inside.

The BJP was trying to target the congress leaders and was trying to topple the elected state governance. A clutch of the BJP MPs has assembled at the Gandhi statue at Parliament house to protest against the congress for its alleged corrupt practices. So it was really a clash of protests which was happened today.
