United we stand, divided we fall. This is a maxim which we always
learnt from our childhood and now it is more or less evident with what
is happening to Telugu states on a national level. There was a time when
United Andhra Pradesh used to send a strong total of 42 MP’s to Lok
Sabha. The presence was strong then.
This
strength mattered a lot when it comes to deciding who is the boss in
New Delhi especially in the era of coalition governments. But the bitter
truth has dawned upon us now. National parties like Congress and BJP
used Telangana trump card to teach a fitting lesson to both regions.
Now
Centre is ignoring one after the other development projects in Andhra
Pradesh and Telangana and boldly making announcements regarding the same
without even slightest fear of reprisals. BJP uses AP to fix Telangana
and vice versa.
At the same time, TS and AP
leave no chance to fight with each other while Centre watches this drama
funnily. The net result of AP bifurcation keeping aside Telangana’s
genuine sentiments aside is nothing but a disaster! The road ahead is
looking very tough to both the Telugu states and only a united stand
would change things.
