An Assam migrant worker was brutally killed in front of 50 men as he was mistaken for a thief. He was tied up and left to die in the sun. He struggled to free himself and finally took his last breath. The migrant worker who goes by the name Kailash Jyoti Borah (29) was mistaken for thief and he was left out in sun from 11am to 1:15pm.


An eye witness said, "More than 50 men watched.. He was foaming on his mouth and none of them bothered to take him to hospital. He turned violent after people tied his legs. First he tried to free his legs. When he failed, he started throwing stones at the mob, which overpowered him and tied his hands behind his back."


A college student who was at the spot said, "He was in agony and people mistook that he was trying to escape. Everyone were just watching. When police came, they freed his hands and legs, but he did not move..."


The villagers who encountered Kailash said they never understood what he said. State government had announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 for the victim’s family.
