The Indian Railways has been quite proactive after Suresh Prabhu became Union Minister in PM Modi's government. It initiated various passenger friendly schemes to win the appreciation of all. 


According to the latest Indian Railways decided to  renovate 13 railway stations in Punjab. During the renovation drive it is stressing on beautification and cleanliness.


Railways decision comes after a  French team  inspected the Ludhiana Railway Station and upgrade it into a world-class railway station.Railways selected Jalandhar Cantt, Jalandhar City, Beas, Chakki Bank, Pathankot, Patiala, Firozpur, Sirhind, Ludhiana, Bathinda junction, Amritsar, Rajpura and Phagwara stations for the project.


Except Patiala, Bathinda, Chakki Bank and Pathankot. Both Chakki and Pathankot stations which fall on the main Jammu railway line, all others fall on the main Amritsar-Delhi main route. Bids will be invited soon from the interested parties for design and ideas.
