In what is being seen as a measure to make sure that the Telugu
Desam Party is not projected in a negative way in Andhra Pradesh, AP CM
and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu seems to have taken a break through
decision. This is expected to draw some mixed reactions from political
circles.
If reports are to be believed, TDP MPs
in Rajya Sabha will be supporting the private bill mooted by Congress
Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao. This is regarding the demand for
special status to the state of Andhra Pradesh. KVP's strategy behind
this is to give Congress a chance to step into AP again.
It
is already known that the Congress main boss Sonia Gandhi has issued a
whip to all the Congress members in Rajya Sabha that they should be
present in the Upper House and vote in favour of this bill. This is for
the first time that Congress issued whip for a private bill.
Sources
say that with TDP now extending support, it will be a huge
embarrassment for BJP. This is because of the bill to be passed in Rajya
Sabha due to the numerical majority of Congress which is also seeking
support from other national parties.
