On Wednesday a sub-inspector was suspended for allegedly circulating an obscene video of a transgender person among colleagues at the Vasant Kunj (North) police station in New Delhi.
The additional deputy commissioner of police (South) Nupur Prasad has said he has been suspended for that, and a preliminary inquiry has been initiated against him as it was senseless on the part of the officer to indulge in such an act.
The incident has occurred after the transgender person and an auto rickshaw driver went to the Vasant Kunj (North) police station over a disagreement and even as the officers were questioning them, the transgender person reportedly has lost her patience and began stripping.
Prasad the additional deputy commissioner has also added that the sub-inspector is accused of recording the act and circulating it among colleagues and a case has been registered against unknown persons under relevant sections of the IT Act.
