The AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is poised to insulate his dream capital in Amravati from a flood threat with the help of the latest radar system developed by Toshiba, a leading Japan-based IT and electronics firm.


Naidu has urged Toshiba technocrats to focus on preventive measures, relief and rehabilitation measures and disaster management preparedness and he has also invited Fuji company, to invest in the smart grid project, initiated by the government in an ambitious effort to turn Amravati into a `smart capital'.


Toshiba presented a demo with the theme of disaster prevention solutions for Andhra Pradesh's new capital city during the interaction. Fuji Company has sought its cooperation in installation of smart meters to help the state attain energy and water securities by checking wastages and pilferages. 


The CM has also sought to rope in Japanese firms in waste to energy projects, evolving traffic management technologies, biometric solutions, city surveillance systems, e-governance, information, communication technologies, electronic land registration system.
