Andhra Pradesh government had decided to shift the employees of Hyderabad to Amaravati at one go by June 27th. Besides secretariat, remaining departments will he housed in various government and rented offices in Krishna and Guntur. As a part of cost cutting, the government had decided the furniture being used in various departments will be transferred to new offices in Krishna and Guntur.
Only the interim secretariat will have brand new furniture. HOD offices will be shifted before the construction of the temporary secretariat complex was completed. The government identified 8,00,000 sq feet of office space in Krishna district to house the employees and their offices.
Government is also showing accommodation to the employees. The government will be providing transportation to Secretariat Employees from where they live in Krishna/Guntur to Velagapudi. On the other side, employees coming to Amaravati from next month are worried as rents in villages in the Amaravati capital region were higher than those in Hyderabad city.
