People across the world can never forget the deadly and dastardly incident of United States dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japan inspite of that destruction quickly recovered thanks to the resolute people and developed as one of the most powerful country.
However the scars of the deadly incident cannot be erased. Till now no US president visited the affected cities. According to the latest Obama will become the fist US president since 1945 to visit Hiroshima. However what is surprising everyone is Nagasaki, the port city is not in US president's visit.
Many talk of Hiroshima whenever people remember World War Ii but they for some reason ignore Nagasaki. Nagasaki located on the south western island of Kyushu, always lived in the shadow of Hiroshami.
Tomihisha Taue, Mayor of Nagasaki says explaining the predicament says “We know that the very highest mountain in Japan is Mount Fuji,” and added “But we don’t know the second-highest mountain.”
Many feel Nagasaki bombing was horder to justify. Though the then US s President Harry S. Truman’s rationale that the Hiroshima bombing was necessary to force Japan’s surrender and end the war, people can never justify Nagasakhi bombing.
