YSRCP president Y S Jagamohan Reddy has announced giving the lone
Rajya Sabha ticket to his close aide and also former auditor of his
group companies, Vijay Sai Reddy as expected. This does not come as a
surprise but the interesting part comes now.
Vijay
Sai Reddy was party general secretary for more than two years and is
considered very loyal to YSR’s family. He has been taking care of
Jagan's financial issues from a long time. This was fine but what
actually surprised media and political observers is the reason Jagan
gave for choosing him.
The young leader
reportedly said that Vijay Sai Reddy has been a co-accused in the CBI
cases filed against him and there was pressure on him from the CBI to
turn an approver against him but he had refused and stood by Jagan all
along. This loyalty has prompted Jagan to give the RS nomination.
This
is seen as really shocking. It hands over a sharp weapon to the rivals,
especially Telugu Desam Party, to strongly attack him. Jagan saying
Vijay Sai Reddy resisted from becoming an approver indirectly shows that
they were indeed guilty in the CBI filed cases.
