On Sunday the BJP's Central Election Committee has announced its Rajya Sabha nominees and contrary to speculations that Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu wouldn't be nominated for the Rajya Sabha for the third term, BJP has renominated Venkaiah Naidu albeit from Rajasthan.


It is said that another Union Minister from AP, Union Minister of state for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman, too got nominated and she will be contesting from Karnataka as its candidate to the Upper House and Nirmala's connection to Karnataka is said to be the reason behind naming her RS candidate from the state.


Since her childhood, Nirmala is the frequent visitor to Bengaluru as her maternal uncle lives in the city and bowing down to pressure from party leaders, people of Karnataka over nominating non-Kannadiga Venkaiah Naidu from the state for several years.


As per the list which was declared for Rajasthan  Venkaiah Naidu, Om Prakash Mathur, Harshavardhan Singh, Ramkumar Varma, for Hariyana Birender Singh, for Maharashtra Piyush Goyal, Karnataka Nirmala Sitharaman, for Jharkhand , Gujarat and Madya Pradesh Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Purushottam Rupala and  Anith Madhav Dave for Chatisgarh Ram Vichar and for Bihar Gopal Narayan Singh
