A senior official has told that for providing railway connectivity to Amravati the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been asked to take up a survey, which is anticipated to get completed over the next four to five months.  


The South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta has said that the RVNL has been assigned to undertake the survey on priority basis so that they can get the report in least possible time and they are hopeful that within the next four to five months the survey would be over.


It is stated that among the new initiatives, the SCR GM has said that the development of Cherlapalli as the alternate rail terminal for twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, has been sanctioned in the current budget.


Gupta has asserted that all over the world it is the Metro which provides connectivity to the airports, he has guessed at some point or the other the Metro which is coming up would eventually look at providing connectivity.
