The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would be most
likely holding mid-term elections for state assembly next year, if one
can try and understand the hints being made by a senior Congress leader.
This is being discussed very strongly among political circles.
The
Leader of Opposition in Telangana’s Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali
Shabbir added that KCR while addressing second anniversary celebrations
of the Telangana Formation Day on 2nd June at Parade Grounds, has made
unique promises.
He reportedly promised
irrigation capacity of one crore acres of land by the year 2022.
Similarly, he had reportedly promised a drought-free state by the year
2022. KCR has people’s mandate only till 2019. Therefore, he should be
speaking about some of those projects or schemes which he actually plans
to complete by the year 2019.
By mentioning
2022, KCR has more or less given a clear hint that he might be going for
the mid-term elections for State Assembly mostly in 2017. Only by such a
logic, he would be getting another term till the year 2022, if he wins
these polls! At this juncture, it would also work in his favor.
