As it became increasingly clear that Britain had voted to leave the European Union, lots of search terms say huge spikes in using google. UK residents are totally unhappy with the result.
Google Trends also reported a 680% spike in searches for "Move to Gibraltar" in the London area, as well as significant rises for the terms: "What if the pound collapses?" and "Buy gold." The price of gold surged by early morning as much as 8.1pc to nearly $1,360 an ounce, its highest since March 2014, after dipping as low as $1,255 an ounce after voting closed last night.
