Sources from Chennai have stated that two days after the murder of Infosys employee S. Swathi at the Nungambakkam railway station, the Government Railway Police (GRP) is yet to identify the killer, but has managed to recover more CCTV footage of the suspect escaping after committing the crime.


A senior GRP has told that they are able to map the route of the murderer from the CCTV footage, but are finding it difficult to sketch the accused because of the poor quality of the footage and a team is trying to enhance the quality of the footage in which the accused is seen fleeing from the crime spot at the station, scaling a wall and walking on the Railway Border Road.


The Chennai City Police are assisting the GRP in the murder investigation and a senior officer of the City Police has said the local police have been providing all assistance in the investigation process based on the requests from the GRP and the local police are already on the job of assisting the investigation.


A senior police officer has told that teams have been talking to various commercial establishments and local people to find the identity of the killer and Meanwhile, Swathi’s family members have also requested the public to help find the killer. At the same time, the family requested the media to avoid speculating about the character of the victim.
