Sources have stated that a Leading Airline, Etihad will be starting its international operation in AP as it gears up to begin its international operation to overseas destinations from the three major airports in Andhra Pradesh  Tirupathi, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

This will make sure that international travelers to and from Andhra Pradesh need not depend on the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad. It is said that Naidu met Etihad airways vice-president Vijay Poonoosamy in China on the sidelines of World Economic Forum meeting and the latter responded positively to a request made by Chief Minister.

It is also added that the airlines would apply for necessary permissions from the Civil Aviation Ministry soon to begin the international operations, since Civil Aviations Ministry is with a TDP man, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the necessary permissions should not be difficult.

Meanwhile the Air Traffic in AP airports has increased by several folds after the bifurcation and this international operation by Etihad if materialized will do wonders for the state and its economy.
