Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti (BGUS) has decided not to follow the height restriction on idols for immersion as recommended by Government. Ganesh Samiti which met Chief Secretary said the Government can't impose any new rights to do so and immersing idol is their fundamental right.

They also said the size can be their wish. Ganesh Samithi also said, instead of cutting down idol height, the State Government should plan to control industrial pollution. Members also argued that DJ Permissions are banned during Ganesh immersion but they are allowed during stage formation day celebrations.

Dr. Bhagvantha Rao who is the General Secretary said, "There is no provision in the Constitution of India or state or police law to restrict customary religious functions. It is a fundamental right of all citizens and that cannot be stopped by State."

Ganesh Utsav will be a 10 day function and BGUS is conducting this event since 1990. The secretary said, "This is the 37th year we are holding mass immersion. So far there has been no difficulty faced by the state or individuals."
