Gunmen recently stormed a restaurant in Dhaka and they have tooks some hostages. This forced security forces to engage in a gun battle and during the battle, it left two officers dead. Some people in the restaurant managed to run to the rooftop and escape, but one witness says about 35 people are still trapped inside,
including some foreigners. This hostage situation was completely unusual for Bangladesh. But here is a list of these attacks which started in 2013.
February 15, 2013: Assailants wielding machetes kill secular blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider after he posts comments online about religious fundamentalism.
February 27, 2015 : Two assailants attack Bangladeshi Blogger and that killed him and injured his wife. This attack happened on a crowded street in Dhaka
March 30, 2015: Three men use meat cleavers to hack 26-year-old blogger Washiqur Rahman Babu to death in Dhaka.
May 12, 2015 : Four men with mean cleavers killed an activist and science magazine editor Ananta Bijoy Das while he left his home.
August 8, 2015: Another blogger is killed by unknown men. This happened when he tried to enter Dhaka apartment.
