Chennai sources have stated that panic has prevailed in the Madras High Court following a murderous attack on a 55 year old lawyer by his son on its premises and it is stated that Advocate A. Manimaran, who occupies chamber No. 219 in the Additional Law Chamber, was attacked by M. Rajesh with a sickle at 1.30 p.m.

A senior police official has stated that the attack was the result of a family feud, where Rajesh who was born to the advocate’s first wife, had visited his father in his chamber to discuss about his sister’s marriage.

On account of using bad words the son has taken out a sickle and has slashed Manimaran on his head and face and it is stated that the incident has raised concerns about security inside the court complex in this regard.

It is stated that the attack has incidentally occurred a day after the First Bench of the HC has said that the proposal to extend the CISF cover to the premises is under consideration and the advocates have rushed the victim to the Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, where doctors have told he has to undergo a surgery.
