Cash for vote scam created huge controversy couple of years back in two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It even brought constitutional crisis with both Telangana CM KCR and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu taking it as a prestige issue and ruling TRS and TDP filing cases against KTR and Chandra Babu in their respective states. 


While TRS government banked on Revanth Reddy getting caught redhanded and the Chandra Babu Naidu's voice in the audio tapes, TDP government questioned the legality of TRS government tapping the phones of AP CM and Ministers. Now according to the latest developments, Supreme Court issued notice to Jerusalem Mathaiah,main accused in the cash for vote scam.


Supreme Court after hearing an appeal filed by the Anti Corruption Bureau of Telangana,  challenging the order passed by the Hyderabad High Court which had quashed the case against him, sent notice to Mathiah. 


ACB made Mathiah accused no 4 in cash for vote scam alogn with Revanth Reddy. Single judge High Court bench quashed proceedings against Mathiah. ACB moved against the ruling and Supreme Court after hearing its pela that he High Court had failed to take several facts which showed Mathaiah’s abetment which could be punished under the Prevention of Corruption Act served notice to Mathiah.
