Warangal sources have added that in an action that could be construed as abetting child trafficking in Telangana, top politicians including a deputy chief minister and police officials got 70 minor boys were released from the care of the local Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

It is stated that the children were placed in CWC custody on Saturday after the railway and city police have caught eight adults transporting these children on a train from Kolkata to Secunderabad and all the children were from Purnia district in Bihar.

Meanwhile the two politicians were told that unless proof was submitted that the children were not being trafficked and that they were genuine students of madras’s, the kids cannot be released.

The CWC Chairperson Anitha Reddy has told that the children were not released from the CWC care by officials and they were forcibly taken away and it was the responsibility of those who facilitated the release and that of the madras’s to ensure that the children are produced in the CWC court along with evidence that they were students of religious studies.
