The congress party in Telangana is in tatters in spite of having a huge cadre base as well as positive sentiment that it had actually granted statehood for the region. Again before the Telangana CM KCR and his strategies, T-Congress is unable to perform well.
Hence sources say that if things go ahead as planned, senior Congress leader and former Union minister Jaipal Reddy may be projected as CM Candidate. The high command is fed up with various factions that complicate matters of every PCC chief.
Jaipal Reddy is like a godfather for the party in Telangana but he has maintained a low profile for unknown reasons. Now he may be given a very large role like how the late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was projected in United Andhra Pradesh after the year 2001.
This Galvanized the Congress cadre that was able to use the anti incumbency factor against TDP very effectively. Hence he may be made PCC chief or he may be the indirect ‘super’ PCC chief for Telangana very soon! This will be a good sign for Congress.
