The KCR led TRS government is no doubt facing a first serious challenge in its two year rule with the land acquisition for Mallanna Sagar reservoir turning controversial. The Opposition parties in Telangana finally landed up on a golden chance to reinvent themselves!
Now, unable to tackle the issue which has been spiralling out of control, it has become clear that the KCR government is raising the capital city Amaravati to get out of trouble. TRS MP’s and ministers have started attacking TDP through the prism of Amaravati.
They are now questioning how the Andhra Pradesh government could take away 30000 acres for Amaravati but object to only few hundreds of acres that are being acquired for Mallanna Sagar Project. But it has to be seen that it was a voluntary exercise overall.
Now for last section of 2500 acres, the Andhra Pradesh government is going for land acquisition but most of the land was taken peacefully under land pooling. In a way, TRS may score a self goal if it plans to divert the heat from Medak agitation in this manner!,
