After facing outrage from all sides, Kerala Government has decided to start online liquor sales during Onam festival. Tourism and cooperation minister A C Moideen said that neither the state owned co-operative consumers federation (Consumerfed) nor the government has taken any decision to start online liquor trade.

The rumours have been put to rest and due to extreme outrage, Kerala Government dropped the idea. The Government also said that the reports from media were baseless. But opposite party leader Ramesh said that UDF will not accept this in anyway and he lashed out the government.

He also said LDF Government favours liquor trade in Kerala. But BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan had said the initiative would hurt the state’s ‘pride and glory’ during Onam festival.

Excise minister TP Ramakrishnan said the proposal was not even received and the Government has taken a decision before it.
