Entire nation is celebrating the success of Sindhu, who did India proud by becoming the youngest ever and first woman at the age of 21 to win silver medal in badminton at Rio Olympics.
All state governments are competing to shower her with awards and rewards and KCR led Telangana government accorded her a rousing welcome to Sindhu on her return to Hyderabad.
Government organised a grand function at Gachchibowli stadium and Ministers and TRS leaders, government officials waited in queue for Sindhu's arrival. Right after her arrival, everyone competed to shake hands with her, take selfies and have photo ops. In the midst of all this Telangana deputy CM Mahmood Ali made insulting comment on Gopichand, coach of PV.Sindhu.
Speaking at the function he said “We are planning to give PV Sindhu proper coaching so that she can get gold medal next time.” He continued in the same vein saying “The coach that she has right now (Gopichand) is also good but beyond that, we wish for her to get a gold from the next tournament,”
Many are blasting Deputy CM for his unwanted,un warranted and insulting comments on Gopichand who produced two Olympic medal winners from his badminton academy.
Many sports lovers and right thinking persons are criticising politicians for offering nothing before the games and then trying to own up the success of individuals after the games.
