Sources from Hyderabad have stated that Olympic silver medalist P V Sindhu on Monday has hoped to bring more laurels for the country and has also thanked all those who have supported her even as the Telangana government, buoyed by her exception performance in Rio, announced its plans of drafting a new sports policy for the state.
Meanwhile Sindhu has addressed the large gathering after taking a victory lap of the stadium, when she had arrived at the Haj Terminal of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in the morning along with coach P Gopichand and her father P V Ramana.
It is added that proud beaming coach Gopichand has said Sindhu and Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik are bound to inspire fresh young sports persons and he has said 2000 Olympics bronze medalist and champion weight-lifter Karnam Malleswari was the one who has inspired him to represent India at the Olympics.
The Telangana CM KTR has announced that the government was willing to assist the Pullela Gopichand Academy financially and hoped that more such sports coaching facilities would be set up across the state.
