Rains lashed national capital Delhi and it resulted in heavy traffic jams bringing life to a standstill. This put national capital to shame once again and this time US secretary of state John Kerry cracked jokes on Delhi rains.
During his interaction with Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi students he joked remarking “You guys all deserve an award for being able to get here today. I don’t know if you came in boats or amphibious vehicles of some kind but I salute you for being here. Thank you very very much,"
Infact John Kerry's proposed visit to three religious sites in Delhi was cancelled due to heavy rains right from the morning. Kerry was supposed to visit Gauri Shankar temple, Jama Masjid and Gurdwara Sisganj Sahib.
Kerry faced lot of problem and difficult time to travel in the city ever since he landed on Monday night due to heavy rains.
The convoy he was travelling was stuck in Satya Marg in Lutyens Delhi for an hour on Monday by a “spillover effect” owing to water-logging in the main carriageways.
He spoke about Indo US relations, terrorism and various other issues pertaining to world. Kerry's lecture at IIT Delhi campus itself was delayed by more than one hour. Down pour in Delhi along with strong winds and lightening for four hours flooded roads of Delhi leaving many stranded.
