Sources from Hyderabad have added that Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham on Tuesday has decalred that he will hold a meeting of Kapu leaders from all political parties at Rajahmundry on September 11th to decide on the future course of action to achieve reservations for the Kapu community.

Meanwhile Padmanabham, who has been meeting Kapu leaders cutting across party lines in Hyderabad for the last two days, has told media that he will continue with the agitation for Kapu reservations till the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh issued orders providing quota for the community in public jobs and professional educational institutions.

Padmanabham has added that he is not backed by YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and the TDP has come to power on the strength of Kapu votes, where they are only demanding that the TDP government fulfill the promise it made to the community before the general elections.

It is also stated that the agitation for Kapu quota was revived by Padmanabham in January this year and the public meeting he has convened near Tuni town has turned violent and has later catapulted indefinite fast agitations twice demanding that those arrested in the violence should be released from jail.
