Sources have added that after 10 years of judicial fight, the Supreme Court verdict in Singur land acquisition case, West Bengal has blew off Tata Motors and the opposition in West Bengal, CPI (M) and for Singur farmers and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who are protesting against forceful acquisition of these lands, presently it's the celebration time.

It is stated that with a view to assign land for Tata Motors to set up Nano car plant in 2006, the then CPI (M) led government has grabbed around 1000 acres of land from farmers in Singur. Farmers, then has protested against Buddhadeb Bhattacharya government under the leadership of Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, who was the Leader of opposition in Bengal.


Meanwhile earlier in 2008, Tata Motors have moved their operations from Singur to Gujarat in 2008 following the protests from farmers and even though Tatas have left, they have never given it up on land and instead have continued to for it in Supreme Court.
   
As per latest report with today's decision by Supreme Court, Tata Motors will return acquired land back to farmers to put an end for a 10 year long protest and meanwhile  the SC has asked farmers to retain money paid by the state government during land acquisition, since they were deprived of their lands all the years.
