AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu is hailed as master strategist and shrewd politician. He is branded as genex Chanakya and many hail him as not CM of the state but as CEO of the state. There is no denying the fact that he put Hyderabad on international radar with his IT policies.
He played key role in the formation of two governments headed by the so called United Front or Third Front. Chandra Babu many times claimed that he got the golden opportunity to become Prime Minister of the country but he rejected the offer as he preferred to be King Maker rather than the King.
Now Chandra Babu speaking to scribes revealed shocker about the happenings during that time. He said his son Lokesh asked him not to become Chief Minister. Chandra Babu who celebrated his wedding anniversary recently speaking to scribes said "My son (Lokesh, now Telugu Desam general secretary) told me the Prime Minister's post is temporary but the Chief Minister post is permanent. So, I did not accept the prime minister's post,"
Chandra Babu was the convener of United Front and during 1997, he was chosen by leaders of all parties in United Front to be the Prime Minister.
During that time Chandra Babu was just two years into office as CM of Andhra Pradesh. Chandra Babu however played powerful role in deciding the PM of the country due to the numbers his party TDP had in the lok sabha.
Many felt that son Lokesh turned villain for Chandra Babu preventing him from becoming Prime Minister of the country.
