Hyderabad sources have stated that light showers have coupled with painfully slow-moving traffic and badly damaged roads met commuters who have ventured out on Saturday morning, and there seemed to be no respite in sight for motorists through the day with many complaining of perilously maneuvering through broken, dusty roads marked by gravel pits and fresh potholes.



S A Raheem, a resident of Tolichowki has said the stretch from Reliance Mart in Tolichowki to the Tolichowki flyover has been completely damaged by the rains and the civic authorities shouldn't wait for the rains to stop to take up repair work and a dedicated team should be formed to pump water out of water-logged roads and to re-plug damaged roads.

It was stated that in the stretch between Whisper Valley and Raidurg Police Station, one side of the road was so severely damaged that for nearly two kilometers, vehicles were forced to travel along the wrong side. 



Meanwhile the minister for forest and environment, Jogu Ramanna, on Saturday has visited the Nehru Zoological Park, which has been grappling with severe water-logging for two days and has asserted that the state government was exploring the possibility of de-silting the Mir Alam Tank and creating alternate outlets.
