Pak PM calls Army chief ahead of UN address
Pak PM Nawaz Sharif who is reeling under immense pressure in the aftermath of deadly terror strike on Uri army base ,Jammu and Kashmir ,India called his army chief Raheel Sharif ahead of his speech at the UN session. Speculation is increasing that he may tone down his Kashmir rhetoric to reduce tensions with India. 


Man injured when during failed attempt to enter Israeli Embassy in Turkey
 38-year-old Turkish citizen, Osman C armed with a knife was shot and injured by security officials when he tried entering Israeli embassy in Turkey. All  Israeli Embassy staff were safe and the attacker was captured.Osman  brandished a knife that he had wrapped inside a newspaper, started to shout and ignored warnings by police guarding the embassy to stop and drop his knife. He was then shot in the leg.


Turkey,Azerbaijan supports OIC meet on Kashmir
The OIC contact group on Jammu and Kashmir held a special meet at New York in the meet Pakistan which has been desperately trying find support to internationalise Kashmir,found support from Turkey and Azerbaijan. The OIC was founded in 1969 is a 57-member organisation which traditionally supports the right of self determination. It however conveniently ignored terror attack in Uri,Kashmir. 


US to designate Pak as terrorist state
Heat is turning on Pakistan after the terrorist attack on Uri army base in Jammu and Kashmir, India. Now two US lawmakers introduced  aimed at designating Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism in a humiliating setback to Islamabad ahead of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's speech before the UN General Assembly. President Barak Obama will have to issue a report within 90 days detailing whether or not Pakistan has provided support for international terrorism according to the bill HR 6069. Pakistan State Sponsor of Terrorism Designation Act.


29 drown from capsized migrant boat off Egypt
A boat with around 600 migrants has  capsized off the Egyptian coast resulting in the death of 29 people. More than 150 people have been saved by the rescue workers. Securtiy sources informed that the boat was carrying Egyptian, Syrian, and African migrants. Local official said "An illegal migration boat has capsized off the coast of Kafr al-Sheiklh carrying 600 migrants in the largest illegal migration operation through the Kafr al-Sheikh coast so far,"

Defence Minister admits lapses in Uri terror strike 
Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar speaking to scribes admitted to lapses in Uri terror strikes which left 18 army personnel dead even as Indian Government is formulating strategies to retaliate against Pak. He said "Something may have gone wrong there (Uri attack). It is a sensitive matter. I believe in zero error". He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that 'those behind the Uri attack will not go unpunished', will not remain a mere comment. "We are serious about it," 


SC on liquor ban in dance bars
Supreme court of India turned serious on Maharashtra law prohibiting liquor in dance bars.  Justice Dipak Misra heading Supreme Court bench hearing to the petition filed by Dance bar owners said a new Maharshtra law prohibiting liquor in dance bars is "absurd", "absolutely arbitrary" and indicative of the State's mentality which is "absolutely regressive by centuries". Maharashtra government however refused to back down stating it  has an "absolute right" to ban liquor at any spot of its choice within the State.


Union Cabinet approves scrapping of Railway budget
Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved scrapping of Railway budget and merge it with general budget. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said "Rail budget and general budget will be amalgamated from now, there will only be one budget," Decision has been taken as leaders of the regional parties who became Railway ministers used the railway bugdet for political gains. The move to discard the British-era practice of a separate rail budget by the Modi government comes after a two-member committee comprising Niti Aayog member Bibek Debroy and Kishore Desai recommended the exercise be scrapped.


World's largest solar power plant launched in Tamil Nadu
Adani Group commissioned the world's largest solar power plant with an installed capacity of 648MW at Kamudhi in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. TN CM Jayalalitha commissioned the plant formally and it was connected to the grid through a sub-station.The plant was set up on an area of around 5,000 acres at a total cost of Rs 4,550 crore. 


Race Course Road renamed Lok Kalyan Marg
NDMC meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken a decision to rename Race Course Road as Lok Kalyan Marg. Decision has been taken after reaching the consensus. Earlier the decision to rename Aurangzeb Road as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road resulted in huge controversy.
