Former Minister, Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham in the month of June back went on indefinite fast demanding the release of those arrested in connection with violence at Tuni in January this year. It is known that Mudragada organised Kapu Garjana demanding reservations for Kapus and inclusion of them in BC category.

Chairman of the State Kapu Corporation Ch. Ramanujaya speaking to scribes questioned the authenticity of Mudragada's indefinite fast. He asked how any individual can continue his fst and maintain the blood sugar levels of 120 to 126 even after fasting for one week.

He said “We have the medical reports of Mr. Padmanabham that indicate that his blood sugar levels were stable even after his week-long hunger strike at his residence in Kirlampudi in February. If any qualified medical doctor says that there is a possibility of maintaining such blood sugar levels even after sitting on genuine fast, I will quit my position and politics as well,”

He said Mugragada is dancing to YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy's tunes and asked kapus not to get carriedaway and misled by Mudragada's false promises.

It has to be seen how Mudragada Padmanabham who is gearing up to intensify Kapu agitation in the coming days will respond.
