Sources have stated that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) is yet to discuss about the new liquor policy to be rolled out in the State, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said when he was replying to questions on Tuesday after the weekly cabinet meeting on whether the government will shut down 10% of the liquor outlets on October 2nd as per the liquor policy of the previous United Democratic Front in force since 2014.



According to the present policy, 10 per cent of the liquor outlets will have to be closed down on October 2 every year and the CM has added that Liquor policy was not discussed in the Cabinet and they have not discussed anything. Let our liquor policy come.

On the Supreme Court’s verdict on the trial of Italian marines Salvatore Girone and Massimiliano Latorre, accused of killing two fishermen off the Kerala coast, the Chief Minister said the Centre was not following the rules from the beginning in the case.



Mr. Vijayan has also said the National Food Security Act would be implemented in the State and the Food and Civil Supplies Minister was looking into the issue and the Cabinet has also decided to sanction Rs. 8 lakh each to the family of those who drowned in the Thrikkandur River in Kozhikode on Sunday.
