Hyderabad sources have stated that the 5th national conference of heads of prisons of states and Union Territories on prison reforms will be held by Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) in New Delhi on September 29th to 30th.



As per report from sources Telangana prison authorities will talk about best practices in prisons with special reference to agriculture and industry and other topics that will be dealt with by officials from across country include rehabilitation and re-integration of inmates, technology and security in prisons.

Narasimha, DIG Prisons has said apart from the existing five petrol bunks, another five will be opened. The prisons department has chalked out a plan to open a total of 100 petrol bunks throughout the state that would fetch revenue of Rs. 200 crore per annum.



Authorities have said both government and private parties placed orders worth Rs 20 crore for manufacture of steel furniture and the Cherlapally central prison also got an Rs 2-crore order to supply steel furniture to chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao's constituency Gajwel.
