A gunman injured six firing indiscriminately at a strp mall in Houston in USA.The Houston Police Department said via Twitter the suspect was ``DOA'' at the contained scene. An hour earlier, they tweeted authorities had shot the suspect.


Shooting at French supermarket injures two


A man in his sixties opened fire on shoppers outside a supermarket near Paris on Monday, severely injuring two people before fleeing the scene.


China army planes fly over strait near Japan


China flew 40 of its military aircraft over strait near Japan after Tokyo announced that it may patrol along with US in the disputed South Cina sea. The planes -- Sukhoi Su-30 fighters, bombers and refuelling aircraft -- made the flights without violating Japan's airspace.

PSLV puts 8 satellites in two different orbits


In a first, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s PSLV C-35 rocket launched a total of eight satellites, into two different orbits.The 371 kg SCATSAT-1, a satellite for weather-related studies, was placed in the polar sun synchronous orbit at an altitude of 730 km some 17 minutes after the rocket took off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota at 9.12 a.m.


PM Modi on Indus water treaty


In the wake of Uri terror attack, PM Modi reviewed Indus Water Treaty, saying 'blood and water can't flow together'.Meeting was attended by principal secretary to PM, Nripendra Misra, national security adviser Ajit Doval, foreign secretary S Jaishankar, the water resources secretary, and other senior officials.


Karnataka approach SC once again on Cauvery 


Karnataka government on Monday moved to Supreme Court seeking modification of the September 20 order, asking it to release 6,000 cusecs+ of Cauvery water per day. Karnataka, in its fresh plea, had expressed inability to implement the apex court order on various grounds including the fact that it does not have adequate water to supply to its cities including Bengaluru.


Lt Col Purohit refused bail in Malegaon blast case


The special court for NIA cases here on Monday rejected the bail application of Lt Col Prasad Purohit, a prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.The order was passed by Special Judge S D Tekale.
